Spiritual Life and Leadership/Becoming Leaders of Shalom: A 12-Day Roadmap to Help You Begin the Journey

Free 12-day Online Course!

Shalom is a beautiful word.   It means "peace."  But it is about so much more than mere absence of hostility.  Shalom is about wholeness.  Well-being.  Fullness of life.

Shalom is what God wants for the world.  Shalom is also what God wants for you as a leader.

Unfortunately, many pastors and ministry leaders lack shalom in their own lives and, as a result, their churches fail to experience the shalom of God.  Consequently, they fail to bring shalom into the world.

But it doesn't have to be like that.  You can lead from a place of wholeness, well-being, and fullness of life.  And you can lead you ministry to bring God's wholeness, well-being, and fullness of life into the world.

Hi, I'm Markus!

I know what it's like to feel exhausted and disoriented as a pastor.

You work so hard to do the ministry to which God has called you.  Preaching.  Teaching.  Casting vision.  Caring for your people.  Trying so hard to make a difference in the world.

But so often you feel like you're constantly on the verge of burning out and giving up.

Having worked with lots of pastors and churches, I want you to know that it doesn't have to be that way.  You can guide your church to bring the healing and wholeness of God into the world as you experience the wholeness of God in your own life.

A 12-Day Roadmap to Help You Begin the Journey

Who is this course for?

Pastors

You are working hard doing what you learned in seminary and in the books you're reading.  But there seems to be so little transformation in your church and community.  This course will chart a path for you to help you become a leader who both generates and experiences God's wholeness.

Ministry Staff

Maybe you're a missions pastor.  Or a youth or children's pastor.  Or a Director of Adult Education.  Or a worship leader.  All of these roles call for leadership of shalom.  This course will show you how you can bear God's wholeness in your unique area of ministry.

Lay Leaders

You're a follower of Jesus and you love your church.  You care deeply for the people in your church and for your community.  And maybe you can see that your pastor is struggling.  You, too, can be a leader of shalom. This course will set you on the path of shalom leadership.

4 Stages, 12 Days

To be the kind of leader this world needs, you need to:

Lead with Clarity on the Church's Reality

Days 1-4

The church is experiencing a season of deep disorientation.  The first step is simply to name the reality of that disorientation.  This stage will give you language to help you understand our disorientation, as well as how to talk to your people about it.

Lead with Clarity on the Mission

Days 5-6

Why does the church exist?  What is it actually good for?  This stage will help you clarify both God's mission and the church's mission.  And, yes, it's all about the restoration of shalom.

Lead When You Don't Have the Answers

Days 7-8

The experience of shalom--in us and around us--can seem to elusive in these disorienting times!  As leaders of shalom, we need to know how to lead even when we feel lost and don't have any answers.

Lead From a Place of Inner Wholeness

Days 9-12

It's great to understand our reality, know the mission of God, and be able to lead in the midst of disorientation.  But if our hearts aren't united to Jesus, we'll still be lost.  This stage explores how we can grow into people of shalom in our inner lives so that in our outer lives we can lead our people to be restorers of shalom.

You can love leadership again!

Ministry leadership in the 21st century can be exhausting and discouraging. This 12-day roadmap will help you begin the journey toward becoming the kind of leader who makes a difference in your church and in the world--a leader of shalom.

No one wants to lead from brokeness

Leading from brokeness is not only exhausting and debilitating for you, the leader.  It also keeps the world from being what it was meant to be.  If you and I fail to be leaders of shalom, the world won't experience the healing and wholeness it needs and your church will continue in its fruitlessness.
